Football Game Preview: St. James Wildcats vs. Oak Grove Tigers + Official Tickets

St. James is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Oak Grove is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wildcats will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. James is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Many 53-13. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 132nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. James found their leader in sophomore Jajuan Jackson, who threw for 328 yards and six TDs on only 14 passes. Thanks to that big game, Jackson is now up to 34 passing touchdowns on the season. Kanye Zenon was Jackson's top target, picking up 142 receiving yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, while Oak Grove put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Richwood. The Tigers blew past the Rams 42-0. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 35-point advantage.

St. James better keep an eye on Patrick Hill. He was instrumental in Oak Grove's win, rushing for 168 yards and one touchdown, while also catching one TD. Those 168 rushing yards gave Hill a new career-high.

St. James' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Oak Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
