Baseball Recap: Oaks Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Oaks Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Torrance Tartars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tartars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Oaks Christian got a good showing from Christian Ipsen, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Ipsen hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in March.

At the plate, Joshua Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The loss snapped Oaks Christian's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 20-9 record. As for Torrance, they pushed their record up to 19-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Oaks Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Torrance, they will square off against Fountain Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Barons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Tartars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
