Football Game Preview: Streator Bulldogs vs. Wilmington Wildcats

Streator hasn't had much luck against Wilmington recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Streator lost to Herscher at home by a 28-14 margin.

Meanwhile, Wilmington had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thornton 47-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Wilmington's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Thornton is ranked 347th).

Streator's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wilmington, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Streator was dealt a bruising 56-18 loss at the hands of Wilmington when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
