Langston Hughes picks up 17th straight win at home

Make it 12 blowout wins for the Langston Hughes Panthers this season. They put the hurt on East Paulding with a sharp 63-40 victory on Saturday. Given Langston Hughes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while East Paulding is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for McKayla Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Harris, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.

East Paulding's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Janaya White, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Danica Harris who scored eight points. That was a full 42.5% of East Paulding's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.88 points. As for East Paulding, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
