Volleyball Recap: Reedley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Reedley took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Sanger West, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Reedley Pirates won by a set and slipped past the Sanger West Hornets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since February 24, 2024.

Reedley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-12.

Jared Bonds paced Reedley's offense, picking up 17 kills. Bonds got some help from Jose Castaneda-Valle and his 43 assists. Uriel Andrade controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The win (which was Reedley's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. As for Sanger West, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Reedley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Madera on the 4th. After both having extra time off, Sanger West and Paso Robles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
