Basketball Game Preview: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Grace Davis Spartans

The Hilmar Yellowjackets will challenge the Grace Davis Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Davis took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hilmar, who comes in off a win.

Hilmar gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past Ceres to the tune of 82-53. The Yellowjackets pushed the score to 59-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Aaron Solorio went supernova, dropping a double-double with 28 points and 11 boards. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high. Carter Fruth was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on his way to 20 points.

Meanwhile, Grace Davis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 43-37 to Patterson. The Spartans have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Hilmar couldn't quite finish off Grace Davis in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 49-47. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
