Baseball Recap: Clifton Comes Up Short

Clifton lost to Verona back in May of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs lost 13-3 to the Hillbillies. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clifton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Clifton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Verona, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clifton will challenge Cedar Grove at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Verona, they will take on Seton Hall Prep in a tournament on Wednesday. The Hillbillies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
