Newport never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rose Bud Ramblers with a sharp 14-0 victory. Considering the Greyhounds have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Newport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rose Bud, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.

Newport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rose Bud, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Batesville at 5:00 p.m. on May 5.
