Soccer Game Preview: Zion-Benton vs. Addison Trail

The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees will head out to square off against the Addison Trail Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Zion-Benton can't be too worried about heading out to take on Addison Trail: they just beat Stevenson at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. The Zee-Bees walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Patriots on Tuesday. The game was the first time Zion-Benton have beaten Stevenson on their pitch since September 17, 2019.

Meanwhile, Addison Trail kept a clean sheet against Elmwood Park on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Tigers 1-0. Given Addison Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Elmwood Park are ranked 276th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Addison Trail pushed their record up to 5-5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for Zion-Benton, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
