Basketball Recap: Mitchell's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mitchell had won two straight games and Kaylana Little did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Mitchell Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls, sneaking past 48-46 thanks in part to Little, who posted 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.

Carys Thuma was another key player, putting up two points in addition to six steals and five boards. Those six steals gave her a new career-high.

Several Bulls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tennae Cabral, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anabella Nieves, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Mitchell's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-43 victory against Wesley Chapel on the 24th. Wiregrass Ranch has also already played their next contest, a 50-16 defeat against River Ridge on the 24th.
