Soccer Game Preview: West Wendover vs. Fernley + How To Watch

The West Wendover Wolverines will venture away from home to square off against the Fernley Vaqueros at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Wendover's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Fernley heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when West Wendover took over last week. The Wolverines won by a goal and slipped past Churchill County 2-1. The win continues a trend for West Wendover in their matchups with Churchill County: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Fernley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to Elko.

Fernley's goal came courtesy of Leeland Ketelaar, which was the first he's scored this season.

Fernley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-2. As for West Wendover, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7-1.

West Wendover beat Fernley by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
