Softball Recap: Grove City Eagles vs. Franklin Knights
While Grove City's win against Franklin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Knights on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on April 4th.

Taylor Thompson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Grove City got a big performance out of Remi Stillwagon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lily Rihel, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Grove City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Franklin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
