Baseball Game Preview: Alameda Hornets vs. Encinal Jets

The Alameda Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Encinal Jets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Alameda is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Piedmont hit Alameda with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 8-7.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Encinal's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Arroyo by a score of 7-6.

Encinal saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Furuichi, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Shaun Presley, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Alameda now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Encinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Alameda suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Encinal when the teams last played last Wednesday. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
