Bishop Ryan put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St. John Woodchucks 69-28. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 24 points or more this season.
Despite the defeat, St. John saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Simon LaRocque almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. LaRocque has been hot, having also posted three or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Parisien, who posted three points.
Bishop Ryan's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. John, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Bishop Ryan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Prairie/Max at 7:15 p.m. on January 7th.
