Recap: Youngker Roughriders vs. Casa Grande Cougars
There's no place like home for the Youngker Roughriders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Casa Grande by a score of 47-36 on Wednesday. For Youngker, this counts as revenge for the 64-38 defeat Casa Grande walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Youngker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Hargrove, who scored 7 points along with 14 rebounds. Hargrove has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Williams, who scored 6 points.
Youngker's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Casa Grande, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Youngker won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Estrella Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Casa Grande, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Joya Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (La Joya Community is ranked 234th, while Casa Grande is ranked 231st).
