Belfast had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came out on top against the Winslow Black Raiders by a score of 9-4. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by exactly five runs.

Jordyn Mackay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Belfast let Laura Carpenter and Sophia Larrabee run wild. Carpenter went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Larrabee went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Carpenter has posted since back in April of 2025. Gracie Moore also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Belfast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Belfast's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Winslow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Belfast will be playing at home against Waterville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winslow, they will head out to challenge Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
