Softball Game Preview: Santa Teresa Saints vs. Ann Sobrato Bulldogs

The Santa Teresa Saints will face off against the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Teresa is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Santa Teresa fell victim to Gilroy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 16-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Saints haven't been shut out since back in March.

Santa Teresa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Vidal, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Ann Sobrato and Branham have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 5-4. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Graciella Marchan was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Jordan Bouton was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Ann Sobrato now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Santa Teresa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.
