It was a good run, but Allatoona unfortunately witnessed the end of their 21-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hillgrove Hawks by a score of 2-1. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Hawks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 33-31, 26-28, 15-10.

Madi Heard paced Allatoona's offense, picking up 16 kills. Heard got some help from Lk Lamonica and her 38 assists.

Hillgrove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabelle Woodyard led the charge by getting six aces and two assists. Those six aces gave Woodyard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nasreen Zelaya-Salimi, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Allatoona's loss dropped their record down to 31-8. As for Hillgrove, they pushed their record up to 15-17 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Allatoona didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against River Ridge on the 2nd. As for Hillgrove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against North Cobb Christian on the 2nd.
