Baseball Game Preview: Thurston-Cuming County vs. Centennial Broncos

Thurston-Cuming County will head out to take on the Centennial Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thurston-Cuming County fell victim to Wayne and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 6-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which Thurston-Cuming County was not able to get on the board.

Thurston-Cuming County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Linkous, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-4 to Lincoln Lutheran.

This is the second loss in a row for Thurston-Cuming County and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Thurston-Cuming County's way against Centennial in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Thurston-Cuming County made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thurston-Cuming County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
