Softball Recap: United Christian Academy Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

United Christian Academy entered their tilt with La Sierra Academy on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 21-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 two weeks ago.

Lariah Avila was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and one double. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sofia Barcelo was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kirin Barcelo was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
