Softball Recap: Seaman Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

While Seaman's victory against West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Chargers on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Kaelyn O'Rourke looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last three matchups.

At the plate, Natalee Simpson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Warren, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Seaman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Seaman's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Seaman beat the Chargers by a score of 14-2 later that day.
