Baseball Recap: Mahwah Takes a Loss

Mahwah was the 9-0 winner over Fort Lee when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Bridgemen by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday.

Jake Buonanno made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Thoelen, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mahwah's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Fort Lee, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mahwah will host Northern Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Lee, they will welcome Paramus Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
