Baseball Game Preview: Tivy Antlers vs. Veterans Memorial Patriots

For the second straight game, Tivy will face off against Veterans Memorial. The Antlers will challenge the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Tivy made easy work of Veterans Memorial and carried off a 7-1 win. The Antlers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

James Riley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Guy Flores was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Tivy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-2 (and 6-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Robert Johnson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Tivy's win bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Veterans Memorial, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
