Basketball Recap: Greenfield Wildcats vs. Golden City Eagles
Greenfield suffered their biggest defeat since February 20, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 79-48 loss at the hands of the Golden City Eagles. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Jamison Menadue was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 22 on his way to 26 points in addition to six assists and five steals for Golden City. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Parrill, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points and five assists.
Greenfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Golden City, their record is now 5-8.
Greenfield will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Golden City, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bronaugh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
