Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers, falling 11-2. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Lamar now has a losing record of 5-6. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Lamar will square off against Mt. Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they will venture away from home to square off against Girard on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.3, the Trojans 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
