Soccer Game Preview: Sutter vs. El Camino

The Sutter Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the El Camino Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Sutter fell victim to Dixon and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 5-0 to the Rams. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 858th, while the Rams are ranked 369th).

Meanwhile, El Camino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Rio Linda, falling 3-0.

El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-2. As for Sutter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Sutter was able to grind out a solid victory over El Camino in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sutter since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
