Softball Recap: Model Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Model dropped their record down to 15-7 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They lost 10-3 to the Madison Central Indians. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Indians when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rylli Hunt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Madison Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

On Madison Central's side, Sydney Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. Smith has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mollie Neeley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Devan Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Model nor Madison Central have any future games scheduled.
