Baseball Recap: Westfield Mustangs vs. Eisenhower Eagles

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Westfield and Eisenhower had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 12-7 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 on Monday.

Ekekiel Portillo looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Westfield is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 9-16 otherwise.

At the plate, Austin Edwards was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Christopher Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Westfield picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 11-17. As for Eisenhower, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.
