Softball Preview: West Field Longhorns vs. Bonneville Lakers
The West Field Longhorns are taking a road trip to face off against the Bonneville Lakers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Longhorns fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They put the hurt on Weber with a sharp 26-1 win on Tuesday.
Cambree Pierson made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Pierson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ella Doxey was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ayzlee Sessions, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4.

Peyton Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Bonneville got a big performance out of Marley Chournos, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Chournos a new career-high in hits. Andie Elmer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
