Football Recap: Orangewood Christian Piles Up the Points Against Crooms Academy

Orangewood Christian never let their opponents score on Thursday. They really took it to the Crooms Academy Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 28-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five matches by 28 points or more so far this season.

Avery McDonald looked great while leading her team to the win, rushing for 39 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, she racked up 86.2 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February. Paige McClarnon made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Orangewood Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. McDonald led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. McClarnon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Orangewood Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangewood Christian will head out to face off against Holy Cross Lutheran Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crooms Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Lake Howell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silverhawks' defense has only allowed 7.1 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
