Softball Recap: Long Beach Poly Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Long Beach Poly ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Woodrow Wilson Bruins. The victory was nothing new for the Jackrabbits as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tegan Breaux spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Long Beach Poly got a big performance out of Alayna Veavealagi, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Persja Lam Sam was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Long Beach Poly's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.4 runs over those games. As for Woodrow Wilson, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Long Beach Poly wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-2 win against Fullerton on the 24th. As for Woodrow Wilson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 victory against Jordan on the 24th.
