Basketball Game Preview: Rocket City Falcons vs. Evangel Christian Lightning

The Rocket City Falcons will head out to face off against the Evangel Christian Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rocket City took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Bradley Knights by a score of 35-25.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian entered their tilt with Tuscaloosa Home Educators on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 47-42 victory over the Warriors.

Rocket City better focus on containing Makayla Cranford and Rachel Cassimiro as the pair were huge in Evangel Christian's win. Cranford dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Cassimiro went 6 of 15 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. Cassimiro is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Lilli Whitfield was another key player, putting up eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Evangel Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Rocket City's record now sits at 4-8. As for Evangel Christian, their record now sits at 5-1.

Rocket City didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Evangel Christian in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win.
