Baseball Recap: Clawson Now 14-2 over Last 16 Games

While Clawson put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Sterling Heights. The Trojans blew past the Stallions 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Max Dunlap was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dunlap was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Fulks, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Ezra Lock was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Clawson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

Clawson is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sterling Heights, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clawson will face off against Hazel Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sterling Heights, they will square off against Center Line at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
