Basketball Recap: Demarcus Henry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Orange Lutheran

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Mater Dei ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They secured a 66-60 W over the Orange Lutheran Lancers. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Lancers are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Dei to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demarcus Henry, who posted 25 points. The dominant performance gave Henry a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Luke Barnett, who scored 16 points.

Mater Dei moved to 20-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Orange Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Mater Dei nor Orange Lutheran have any future games scheduled.
