Soccer Game Preview: Powdersville vs. Christ Church Episcopal

The Powdersville Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Powdersville will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Christ Church Episcopal better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Powdersville really gets things going. Everything went Powdersville's way against Southside Christian on Thursday as Powdersville made off with a 4-0 victory. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Christ Church Episcopal was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of Catawba Ridge by a score of 1-0. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Powdersville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Powdersville came up short against Christ Church Episcopal in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, falling 2-0. Can Powdersville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
