Softball Recap: Millbrook Pioneers vs. Sherando Warriors
Millbrook had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 8-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Sherando Warriors, falling 7-0. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Sherando, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4. Considering they have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Sherando's part, the result came thanks to Lilian Wray's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks. Wray has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elleana Shutts, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kayla Grum was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
