Softball Recap: Boone Grove Wolves vs. Westville Blackhawks

Boone Grove proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) but on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Westville Blackhawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Boone Grove also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Natalee Meinert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Boone Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Atteberry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
