Volleyball Recap: Braintree Has No Trouble Against Walpole

Braintree's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Walpole Timberwolves 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Braintree never let Walpole on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-22.

Norah Downey paced Braintree's offense, picking up 11 kills. Downey got some help from Zerena Chung and her 23 assists. Downey was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Braintree's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Walpole, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Coming up, Braintree will be playing in front of their home fans against Durfee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Walpole, they will welcome Needham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
