Mira Costa win going away against Peninsula

The Mira Costa Mustangs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Peninsula 35-15. Given Mira Costa's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Peninsula is ranked 402nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Mira Costa to victory were Reese Leonard and Nico De La Cruz. Leonard picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, while De La Cruz threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
Mira Costa's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Peninsula, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Costa will take on Redondo Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Peninsula, they will be playing at home against Palos Verdes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Palos Verdes is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
