Basketball Recap: Central Academy Takes a Loss

Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Stanly Colts. The Cougars lost against the Colts in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-25 score last time.

Central Academy's record is now 1-10. As for West Stanly, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.

Central Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Anson at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. West Stanly and Bradford Prep will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. West Stanly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Bradford Prep likes a good challenge.
