The Lynbrook Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Monta Vista Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lynbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Lynbrook took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let MacDonald get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Condor recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Akira Gok was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Fong, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lynbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Monta Vista came out on top against Gunn on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Matadors took their contest against the Titans 8-3.
Ryoga Aiuchi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Joseph Murai was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Shiva Kumaraguru, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Lynbrook's record now sits at 10-14. As for Monta Vista, their record is now 18-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lynbrook has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Monta Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Lynbrook's way against Monta Vista in their previous matchup back in April, as Lynbrook made off with a 9-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
