Basketball Recap: Somerville's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Somerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of the Brazos Cougars by a score of 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Yeguas have suffered since December 9, 2023.

Somerville's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for Brazos, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerville will square off against St. Joseph Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Somerville is facing St. Joseph Catholic at the right time seeing as St. Joseph Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brazos, they will take on Almeta Crawford in a tournament on Thursday.
