Basketball Recap: La Grange Extends Winning Streak to Four

La Grange had won three straight games and Kylie Trlicek did her part to make it four on Friday. The La Grange Leopards enjoyed a cozy 50-35 victory over the Seguin Matadors thanks in part to Trlicek, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points along with six boards and five steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Cooper Sg 2027, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in November.

Seguin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rebeka Wilke, who had five points and 11 rebounds. Wilke is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Faith Franklin, who put up nine points.

La Grange is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Seguin, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Grange will welcome Smithville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seguin, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edison at 7:30 p.m.
