Basketball Game Preview: Lake Mary Rams vs. Creekside Knights

The Lake Mary Rams will face off against the Creekside Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lake Mary comes in on three and Creekside on 11.

Lake Mary is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Spruce Creek, posting a 63-36 victory.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Creekside against Flagler Palm Coast on Friday as the team secured a 65-36 win. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Creekside's win came from a few key players Lake Mary will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cade Patterson, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 16 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nolan Nelson, who posted four points in addition to 16 boards, six assists, and six blocks.

Creekside pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points over those games. As for Lake Mary, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.

Lake Mary was able to grind out a solid victory over Creekside when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 68-60. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
