Basketball Game Preview: Union-Endicott Tigers vs. Sweet Home Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Union-Endicott knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Sweet Home likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, Union-Endicott didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Johnson City, but they still walked away with a 72-68 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Wildcats are ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Sweet Home, as they earned their first road win of the season. They skirted past Iroquois 54-51.

Union-Endicott has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for Sweet Home, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
