Recap: Mobile Christian Leopards vs. UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Mobile Christian Leopards unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 51-33 bruising from UMS-Wright Prep. Mobile Christian has struggled against UMS-Wright Prep recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Leopards players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hakeem Winston, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Winston continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bowen Baggett, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Mobile Christian has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 8-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for UMS-Wright Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mobile Christian will take on Chickasaw at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cottage Hill Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than UMS-Wright Prep in Alabama (Cottage Hill Christian Academy is ranked 57th, while UMS-Wright Prep is ranked 229th).
