Softball Game Preview: Vergennes Commodores vs. Milton Yellowjackets

The Vergennes Commodores will venture away from home to square off against the Milton Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Milton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Vergennes, who comes in off a win.

Vergennes took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Middlebury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Commodores narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 8-7.

Meanwhile, Milton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Mt. Abraham, falling 16-4.

Milton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Vergennes, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Vergennes couldn't quite finish off Milton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Commodores avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
