Softball Game Preview: Waterloo Vikings vs. Springfield Tigers

For the second straight game, Waterloo will face off against Springfield. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Waterloo knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Springfield likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Waterloo earned a 13-9 win over Springfield. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

For Springfield's part, Giuliana Battaglini made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gina Romeo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Waterloo's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
