Football Recap: Perrysburg Comes Up Short

If Perrysburg was feeling good fresh off their 64-0 takedown of Bowling Green last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell 28-20 to the Olentangy Braves on Friday. While the Yellow Jackets had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Braves 7-0.

Despite the loss, Perrysburg still got an impressive performance from Brady Maxwell, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 162 yards and one TD. Maxwell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Another player making a difference was Ethan Devries, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one score.

Perrysburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Olentangy, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Perrysburg will welcome Ross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Yellow Jackets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Olentangy, they will venture away from home to face off against Olentangy Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
