Recap: Stamford Black Knights vs. Westhill Vikings
The Stamford Black Knights won the last time they faced the Westhill Vikings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Stamford came out on top against Westhill by a score of 56-44. Given Stamford's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Westhill is ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stamford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ejai Presley out in front who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Damar Taylor, who scored 12 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Stamford and bumps their season record up to 11-3. As for Westhill, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stamford will take on Trumbull at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trumbull knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 games -- so hopefully Stamford likes a good challenge. As for Westhill, they will head out on the road to take on St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westhill is coming into the match with nine straight defeats on the road, meaning St. Joseph will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
